The contest is an individual competition (no teams) where each grade level competes separately. It is conducted over multiple rounds with the following structure:
Group Sizes: Participants are placed into small groups of 4 to 8 students.
Session Content: Each competition session consists of 10 multiple-choice logic questions.
The contest consists of multiple levels. The number of levels may vary depending on total participation.
Level 1:
– Students compete in groups of up to 8 participants.
– The top 3 scorers from each group advance to Level 2.
Level 2:
– Qualified students compete again in groups of up to 8 participants.
– The top 3 scorers advance to Level 3.
Level 3:
– Qualified students compete in groups of up to 8 participants.
– The top 3 scorers advance to the Final Level.
Level 4 (Final Round):
– Final round to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each grade.
Buzzing Protocol: Participants must wait until the question is fully read before buzzing in. Buzzing in early results in disqualification from that question.
Answering: Once recognized, a student has 5 seconds to provide a clear and concise response.
Correct Answer: +10 points.
Incorrect/Late Answer: -10 points.
Shouting Out Answers: Any student who shouts an answer without buzzing and being recognized receives a 10-point deduction.
Tiebreakers: In the event of a tie, additional logical reasoning questions will be used to determine who advances.
Ethics & Conduct: High standards of sportsmanship are expected. Cheating, disruptive behavior, or intentionally pressing the buzzer continuously will lead to disqualification.
Audience/Coaches: Must observe quietly; anyone heard answering questions from the audience will be asked to leave the hall.
Materials Provided: All participants receive a sheet of paper and a pencil during the competition to solve questions and calculate responses.
Study Focus: Students should practice logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving puzzles suitable for their grade level.
