About Ashwini Khaparde

Ashwini Khaparde began her initiation of music at the age of five. She was initially trained by her father, Shri. Shashikant Thombre. Subsequently, she learnt from the eminent Smt. Usha Parkhi of the Kirana gharana for eight years. She has continued to learn from Smt. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande of the Jaipur-Atruali gharana. Ashwini combines the two gharanas easily and melodiously and presents compositions bringing out the best of both the gharanas. She holds Sangeet Alankar degree from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Ashwini’s large repertoire includes semi-classical forms and Natya Sangeet. Ashwini lives and teaches in Santa Clara, CA.

Vivek Datar on Harmonium and Satish Tare on Tabla

Vivek Datar is a well-known harmonium player based in the Bay Area. He has learned from late Pt. Vinayakrao Kale from Gwalior Gharana for about eight years and has been accompanying for more than 25 years. Vivek has accompanied several renowned artists like Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Padma Talwalkar, Madhav Gudi, Nagraj Hawaldar, and Shounak Abhisheki. His interests lie in the field of tuning theory and application.

Madhusudan alias Satish started learning Tabla at a very tender age of 5 from his father Late Shri Madhav Tare who himself was disciple of great legendary Ustad Amir Hussein Khan sahib. Later on Satish got a rigorous training from Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkar ji for almost 15 years in Mumbai. He also got guidance from Pt. Vibhav Nageshkar ji while studying Diploma in Music from Mumbai University. During his stay in Pune, he learned from Shri Vivek Joshi. Currently Satish is taking advanced training from the world renowned Tabla maestro, none other than Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri ji, in California for last 10 years.

Satish has been consistently giving performances both as a solo artiste and as an accompanist to vocal as well as instrumental artistes in California as well as all over the USA.
