ICC celebrated Senior Day on May 19th

Always set for the last Wed in May, National Senior Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for older adults. In addition to honoring the important role seniors play in the family, Senior Day focuses on helping keep older Americans healthy & fit.

The ICC is an important part of the lives of many seniors, providing a place to meet and socialize with other seniors and offering a support system through the many activities and programs it runs. This year, the ICC celebrated Senior Day on May 19th with a showcase including a parade, a comedy skit, songs & speeches, Bollywood dance, and special recognition for seniors 75 years and older. The honored guest was Dave Cortese, the District 3 Supervisor for Santa Clara County, who presented certificates to the volunteers noting their contributions to the ICC’s senior programs. He encouraged the seniors to enjoy themselves during this time in their life, with fun, laughter, and self-awareness.
