Board of Directors

The Board of Directors help the organization achieve its vision and mission by employing the Executive Director and guiding the operations of the organization. Directors volunteer their time & no salary is received. Each Director makes a financial pledge & commitment to participate actively in the ICC’s work, sharing professional and personal expertise & wisdom. Directors meet at six to 10 times per year & are elected for three year terms. 

Manish Chandra -

Our fearless leader, Manish is both boss and idea guy. He's the consummate visionary, thinking up about sixteen new ideas for Kaboodle a day. He pushes us to do more for Kaboodle - faster, better, and on a budget (forgoing extravagant expenses like company phone lines). Manish can also now talk trends and designers with the best of them.  

Prior to his much-cooler time at Kaboodle, Manish was the VP Marketing at Versant and part of the executive team at Versata that took the company public. Additionally, Manish has held R&D and Product Management roles at Sybase and Intel. In addition to the fashionista training he's pursued since joining Kaboodle, Manish has also taken a handful of college classes, earning a Bachelor of Technology from IIT Kanpur in India, an MS in Computer Science from UT Austin, and an MBA from Haas.  

Manish and his wife Asha has been actively involved with the ICC for years. Manish is currently one of the leaders helping create and grow the Rendezvous program at the ICC and Asha currently volunteers in many capacities, serving on the ICC Community Advisory Council and on the ICC Youth Committee.

Navneet Chugh

Navneet Chugh (born in Nagpur, India, December 15, 1961) is a lawyer based in LA with extensive reach and interests all over California. His practice areas are corporate law, taxation, mergers & acquisitions, and trusts & estates. His educational background is Western State University, J.D., 1992, Nagpur University, India, B.S., Business, 1980; University of Southern California, M.B.A., 1985. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1992.  

Navneet is also the member of a number of associations, such as the Los Angeles County, Orange County and International Bar Associations; State Bar of California; American Immigration Lawyers Association; South Asian Bar Association of Southern California (Founder President).

More details: Navneet is the Recipient, President's Scholarship, Western State University. Certified Public Accountant, California, 1990. Certified Financial Planner, 1994. Founder President, Indian Professionals Toastmasters Club. Founding Member, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Los Angeles. He is also heavily involved in AIF. The Chugh firm has also been a sponsor at previous ICC Banquets.

Venky Ganesan , (Co-President)- Venky earned degrees in Math, Economics and Computer Science from Reed College and the California Institute of Technology. He was a Rhodes Scholar Finalist from India and played squash for his college. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two daughters.  He loves to read, enjoys sports, and is a die-hard cricket fan. He volunteers for Caltech and Reed and is very involved with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He is a Managing Director of Globespan, and serves on various boards including Agitar, Exeros, Jajah, Market Live, Palo Alto Networks, Plaxo, and Strongmail. Venky is passionate about the ICC mission and engaging the community by connecting other like-minded individuals to the ICC, to expand outreach and fundraising efforts.


B.V. Jagadeesh - B.V. Jagadeesh is the co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of Exodus Communications. Exodus pioneered the Internet Data Centre market, and was ranked 11th in Business Week's "Hottest of the Hot" information technology industries of 1999. B.V. has funded about 16 start-ups in the US and continues to maintain his links to India in the same way. He is a member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and is committed to his community, his alma maters and to encouraging global development of opportunities. He is extremely proud and connected to his alma maters - a village school in Bagalur, Sheshadripuram High School, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore, and VJTI, Mumbai and very passionate about creating positive opportunities for our youth.

Bala Joshi, (Co-President)- Bala is a Director of Engineering at Intel. Prior to Intel, he was Vice President of Engineering at Fujitsu and held prior leadership positions at Digital Equipment, Sun Microsystems and HAL Computer Systems. Bala received his Executive MBA from Stanford University, Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and B.E. (Honors) from Regional Engineering College, Trichy.  Bala Joshi and wife Dr. Jayashree Joshi are proud parents of two children. All are ICC volunteers.

Raj Judge (Legal Counsel) - Raj Judge is a corporate partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He also plays a leadership role in the firm's India practice, focusing on corporate and securities law for technology companies. Raj regularly advises venture-backed start-up companies, mezzanine-level companies prior to their IPOs, and well-established public companies. Raj serves on the boards of several private companies and has been invited to advise the Securities Exchange Board of India on liberalization policies and the Clinton administration on Indian information technology issues.  Besides English, Raj is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and French.

Anmol Mahal, M.D. - Anmol has an award-winning solo practice in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Dr. Mahal serves as Chairman to the Trustees of the California Medical Association, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin. He is a trustee for the Palo Alto Sikh Foundation and has received many awards for his medical practice.

Vibhu Mittal - Vibhu is a senior researcher at Google working in machine learning and natural language processing. Previously he worked at Xerox PARC, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of S. California, Ohio State University and TIFR, India. He is interested in applications of technology to medicine, issues in elder care and education (in general). His current efforts in furthering the interests of the ICC are focused on fostering a series of interesting talks and panels (the ICC Forum series) and in enabling people to connect and communicate virtually using the ICC website. Please feel free to contact him with suggestions on either of these two issues in particular, or about the ICC in general.

Raju Reddy

Raju holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from BITS Pilani and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Virginia Tech.

Raju is a member of the BITS Pilani Board of Directors and a Charter member of TiE Silicon Valley. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Puente, a Wharton School non-profit program which helps under-privileged communities worldwide gain access to technology. Raju also co-founded SIPA (Silicon Valley Indian Professional Association) along with other young Indian engineers from Silicon Valley in 1987.

R. Paul Singh

- R. Paul Singh has over 20 years of experience in general management, marketing and business development in the communications industry. He founded ipVerse/Veraz (NASDAQ: VRAZ) which develops and manufactures Voice over IP switches for Telecom service providers worldwide. There he served in several management roles over nine years, from CEO to VP to GM. Before founding ipVerse, Mr. Singh held executive positions including CEO and co-founder of Internetware, an Internet security company later acquired by Quarterdeck, president of Launch Marketing, where he worked with Ascend, Netopia, and Sun Microsystems on product strategy and launch plans, and director of marketing for Telebit, a pioneer of remote access technology later acquired by Cisco Systems. He has co-authored three books on Internet related topics, published by New Riders Publishing.

Ashok Vaish - Ashok studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, graduating with a B. Tech in Civil Engineering and attended graduate school at UC Berkeley, obtaining a Ph. D. in Structural Engineering. He then worked with Impel Corporation in San Francisco designing nuclear power plants. From 1981 he was at PMB Systems Engineering in San Francisco designing and analyzing Offshore Oil platforms. Since 1986 he has been an active investor and very successful venture capitalist, primarily for start-ups in Silicon Valley.  Ashok likes to combine two of his personal interests – photography and travelling with his wife Gita as much as possible.  Recent visits have included: Churchill, Manitoba to photograph polar bears; Patagonia to hike on glaciers and sail the fjords; Inside Passage, Alaska, cruising the glacier bays; Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas photographing nature and the monasteries.

Mario Vargas - For the last 15 + years, Mario has risen through the YMCA and currently is the Executive Director of the East Valley YMCA. He has a deep understanding of engaging community and brings with him invaluable guidance, advice and networking opportunities.  Since East Valley encompasses Milpitas, Mario has excellent relations with local politicians and community figures, and he shares a passion for Indian culture and community based, community driven organizations. Raju is the founder and CEO of Sierra Atlantic. With over 2000 employees, Sierra Atlantic is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California and has Global Development Centers in Hyderabad, India and Guangzhou, China. Under his leadership, Sierra Atlantic has become a Best-in-Class Global IT Services company, and consistently ranked amongst best managed companies including the top 75 most Admired companies in Silicon Valley, Top 25 great places to work in India and Top 10 best employers in South China. Before founding Sierra Atlantic in 1993, he spent 10 years at Intel in software development, marketing and general management.
