ICC Senior Nutrition Program

The ICC Senior Nutrition program is formally managed by certified professionals to ensure that it is balanced in nutrition and meets the standards set by the Santa Clara County.

The program includes a site manager for managing the nutrition who is trained and certified by the county. Lunch is served everyday which the seniors enjoy very much.

The menu is built collaboratively by the nutrition site manager Rajni Kulkarni, A dietetian and the food supplier Milan.

Lunch menu varies on all four days of the week and includes Rice, Roti, Karhee, Dal, Sabji, Lassi, fruit salad. Its ensured that it is nutritious, balanced and delicious. Temperature of the food is taken every day to make sure the temperature regulations as set by the Santa Clara county who subsidizes the meals. Those who take the role of waiters wear the proper gear including aprons, gloves and hair nets following all hygiene practices. Use of hand sanitizers are enforced on all. Volunteers are trained for serving. The contribution of $2.50 per person per meal is accounted and tracked for, and monthly reports sent to the county.
