JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director, the development manager is responsible for serving as a philanthropy manager to a portfolio of donors and for contributing to the operational necessities to deliver a world class experience to all donors.
Wage to be commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and maintain excellent donor relationships with a responsive, engaging and cultivating attitude.
· Engage donors with the center and learn about specific programs and services through existing channels, such as fundraisers, programmatic events and other initiatives.
· Help design and execute high-end fundraisers including our Annual Banquet, working with a diverse volunteer and donor base and donor appreciation events as assigned.
· Support all community fundraisers with a combination of strategic and operational advice.
· Maintain and update donor database records in Telosa’s Exceed, including invoicing and acknowledgements.
· On a monthly basis, reconcile fundraising activities with accounting.
· Develop and execute a grant strategy, applying to at least five grants per year.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Develop and track reports for all foundation and grant fundraising.
· Serve as a visible, active, and enthusiastic presence in the life of the India Community Center, and be an advocate for the institution's mission to both internal and external constituencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, policy, or a related discipline. Master’s degree a plus.
· Minimum 2+ years experience in donor services, fundraising or other paid non-profit positions.
· Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.
· Keen interest in the field of immigrant and diaspora philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector. Experience a plus.
· Desire to interact with donors on multiple levels for the purpose of engagement and cultivation.
· Excellent information technology skills. Experience with Telosa’s Exceed a plus.
· Attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent people and project management skills, with an ability to work with diverse people in multicultural environments.
