ICC offers a variety of programs for the Girl Scouts of Northern California to help create awareness about India. These programs immerse girls aged 6-18 in Indian culture through interactive activities.

They learn about Indian history and geography. And while getting henna on their hands they learn a few words of Hindi and see what their name looks like written in Hindi. They practice some Indian dance steps and do some yoga while listening to an Indian folk tale. Creating Rangoli and learning about the significance of its designs and its varied names across India gives them a glimpse into how art and craft are a part of everyday life in India. Working with beads and string they can visually contrast the density of population in India versus the US. And of course they also get a flavor of Indian cuisine!
