Bollywood Classes

Come learn from the dance company that made it to the top 48 in the current season of NBCs shows "America's Got Talent" (out of 17,000 acts)! Not only does the Mona Khan Dance Company perform nationally, they also teach classes right here at the India Community Center. Bhangra that is one of the most energetic dances that would provide full cardio and weight loss while enjoying and learning a fine dance form. It is catching up and coloring Bollywood music everywhere. These classes will be a perfect blend of traditional and Bollywood Bhangra.

LANGUAGE CLASSES

 Malayalam Class for Kids – Level 1


Dates: Jan 21st-April 14th, 2012
Day: Saturday: 3:30pm-4:30pm (Ages 6-12yrs)
Ages: 6-12yrs
Price: $90 ICC members, $100 non members
Location: ICC, Milpitas
The Malayalam Language Program organized by Kerala Club California in association with the India Community Center, is for kids between the ages of 6 to 12. It is intended to introduce them to Malayalam, which is the official language of the State of Kerala in India. The goal of the 12 week program is to introduce the letters and commonly used words to the kids. The program, with the help of multimedia and a carefully created lesson plan, would introduce the language through making the student familiar with letters, commonly used words, simple stories and songs. Malayalam Class for Kids – Level 2
 

Dates: Jan 21st - April 14th, 2012

The Malayalam Language Program organized by Kerala Club California in association with the India Community Center, is for kids between the ages of 8 to 14. It is intended to build up on Level 1 and encourage the use of the language, by speaking, reading and writing. Register now 
 

Conversational Hindi Class for Kids

Dates: Jan 21st – March 10th, 2012
Day: Every Saturday 10am–11am
Ages: 5-12yrs
Price: Members: $90; Non Members: $100.
Location: ICC, Milpitas
This class will teach conversational Hindi and introduce the Devanagari script (alphabet / characters that make up Hindi). Students will also be introduced to the language through fun songs, exciting stories, role play and other interactive mediums.  Session cancelled, Next session starting in March. 

Conversational Hindi Class for Adults

Dates: Jan 21st – March 10th, 2012
Day: Every Saturday 11am–noon
Ages: 18+
Price: Members: $90; Non Members: $100.

The Adult Hindi class is catered toward participant needs. The class will focus on the conversational aspect or the writing aspect as needed. It’s a great class to take with a friend or two so you can start practicing your conversations in Hindi. Session cancelled, Next session starting in March.

LEVEL 1 - Delivery and Presentation (Eligibility - Age 8 – 14 years)
Is your child, stage shy? Or does your child always want to be on stage? In this class, students learn how to manage public speaking anxiety, present themselves with confidence, and connect to their audience with effective and clear speech. It improves their critical thinking, research and listening skills. Cultivate the leadership skills from this tender age in the friendliest and fun way! Students will see videos of some of the well known speeches of modern and classic times. Kids need some fun, we all do! We play many public speaking games such as Taboo, Charades, Pretend to be a teacher, news reporter etc. Classes cancelled, next session starting in March 2012.

Location: ICC, Sunnyvale – Sunnyvale recreation Center, Board Room
Ignite your child’s imagination about all things Indian. Children will explore the culture of India through songs, role-play activities, storytelling and games. Fun, age-appropriate activities make it easy for little ones to learn and practice Hindi vocabulary. No Hindi language experience necessary. Non-refundable materials fee of $20 due at first class. This is not a parent participation class. Register with the Class # given below.
 

ART CLASSES

Clay Art for kids
Dates: 03/20/2012 - 05/8/2012

Location : ICC Milpitas

Workshop allows children to join and discover fine arts techniques. Your child will explore the wonders of clay while refining his or her fine motor skills. Children discover the magical qualities of clay while hand-building whimsical animal sculptures, coil pots, memory boxes, and much more.

Group Exercise

All group ex classes are free to ICC fitness members. We offer about 40 group ex classes including traditional step aerobics, Bollywood cardio, Bombay Jam, Zumba & Yoga to name a few. For information on timings, click here.
 

Parent & Me Class

ICC Play Care offers Parent & Me classes to the family members. This class includes the age appropriate activities, circle time, story time, games etc. Parent & Me class celebrates most of Indian/ non-Indian festivals like Diwali, Eid, Holi, Halloween and Christmas etc. Class is held on every Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm for ages 6 months to 3 years.

Table Tennis Center

Table Tennis Classes

The ICC Table Tennis program has been growing exponentially since its launch in 2005. In five years it has grown into North America's largest dedicated table tennis center.
The center boasts 19 nationally ranked players, two of the youngest 2009 World Championship contenders (Ariel and Lily), more than a dozen medals from the U.S. National Championship, and a nationally acclaimed coaching staff. The sky is the limit for this amazing program.
Our Table Tennis Center has just added a new After School Program along with it's full line of classes from Beginner's level, to Advanced, to League levels.
