Cultural Immersion (Activities Include)

Indian Dance
Our dance sessions include various Indian Folk (e.g. Garba, Bhangra) and Bollywood Dance forms.
Indian Music
Our music sessions expose children to patriotic Indian songs and various Indian instruments like the tabla and sitar.
A to Z India
Whether it’s making a model of India out of ice cream, playing an India trivia game or making a timeline of India’s history, these collaborative activities are not only fun but they also develop teamwork and experiential learning.
Kids Yoga
A kid-specific program allows children to learn the benefits of Yoga at an early age, while emphasizing the importance of physical exercise and mental concentration.
Cricket
Twice a week, our campers will get to the grass and learn how to play India’s favorite game. Our expert coaches will teach them the basics; then the campers will take over the field!
Eco-Prithvi
Once a week, our campers will put their best foot forward to help the community and save the planet. Green projects might include composting, making paper from recycled scraps, planting trees, learning about water preservation and recycling.
Family Dhamaka

At the end of every cultural immersion camp we invite our camp families to join in the experience. Our campers will surprise you with their presentations based on work done during the camp week.   

Bollywood Dance Camp

Dance to musical hits from popular Bollywood movies while learning new and original dance steps. Our amazing teachers and choreographers have created special dances just for this camp. This class will keep your kids on their feet the whole week.

Chess Wizards Camp - NEW
This new camp for 2009 will give your child an opportunity to get an in-depth view into the world of chess through games, activities and practice. The strategy and moves of chess teach children how to focus and think ahead in various aspects of life.

Powerful Planet Science Adventures Camp

Have you ever wanted your child to make an electric car, assemble a solar cooker, design a turbine or make paper? Well in this fun camp kids will not only do all that but also learn about the science of alternative energy and become an eco-expert!

Bollyhop Dance Camp

This new energetic dance style combines dance moves from Bollywood with hip hop. This special choreography takes the best from east and west to create unique dances. So join us for this high energy dance camp and get moving!

Robotics & Lego Animation Camp

Explore the exciting world of NXT Robotics and create your own animated movie. Harness your child’s creativity with the power of LEGO TECHNIC* elements combined with state-of-the-art ultrasonic, sound, light and touch sensors. Students will use a web cam and LEGO* Studios software to make short animated movies. With great coaches and step-by-step building instructions this amazing program introduces kids of all levels to the world of robotics and animation. All materials are provided for onsite use.

Hindi Camp

Learning a second or third language is a very powerful tool in an ever shrinking world. So sign your kids up for a hands on, activity based Hindi language camp. Kids will learn Hindi conversational Hindi, the alphabet and rudimentary writing as well. Language will be introduced via songs, stories, role play and various other child-friendly activities.

Crafts of India Camp

India has a rich craft heritage and art and craft is a part of everyday life in India. Have your children learn about some amazing crafts like Warli Art, Block printing, Batik, Henna designs, Bandhej (tie-die), Rangoli (the art of painting with colored powder, lentils or flowers), vegetable dies, Kantha embroidery and many more. All the activities will be hands on and will allow for creative exploration.

History of India Comes Alive Camp

 
Thousands of years of Indian History comes alive in this unique camp. Children will learn about milestones in Indian History in an interactive fashion through acting, scriptwriting and skits. Besides gaining an understanding of India's History, children will also learn how to work in teams and practice creative writing

Gandhi Camp (Overnight camp)
Celebrating its 23rd year of service, the Gandhi Youth camp has given an opportunity to hundreds of our youth to learn Gandhian principles of truthfulness, tolerance and self-help. Daily Activities include: community service projects, Sports, Cultural activities, Discussions, and Friendship-building group games. This overnight camp emphasizes teamwork, leadership and unity.

'India Comes Alive' at the Asian Art Museum

Indian history and mythology dances to life at this Summer Camp for kids ages 10-13.The museums South Asian Art Collection in partnership with India Community Center is the backdrop for this interactive camp that explores Indian Dance, costumes and storytelling traditions to bring India alive!

 Camp Cost
Camps vary in cost from $200 for Cultural Immersion Camps to $350 a week for some specialty camps. Sibling and ICC member discounts are available. Multiweek discount is for Cultural Immersion Camps only.
Camp Policies
Once camps are full any new registrants will be placed on a wait list. Enrollment is on first come first serve basis. Icc always holds the right to cancel any camp program due to insufficient enrollment. All Camp payments must be made prior to the start of the camp week.
Camp Refund and Cancellation
In Order for ICC to process a refund, we must receive an email prior to June 9th. If we receive your written email before June 9th, refunds will be made less a $50 processing fee /camp. Refunds will not be permitted after June 9th. No transfers will be permitted after June 9th. 
Financial Assistance
ICC offers need based financial scholarships. To apply, please mark the “financial aid” box on the online registration form by May 30.
 
Lunch Program
 
For your convenience we offer healthy vegetarian meals for an extra chanrge of $35/week 
 
Camp Timings
All our camps are full day camps from 9:00am - 3pm. Our counselors provide extended care at ICC Milpitas before camp in the morning from 8:00am - 9:00am for $25/week & after camp from 3pm - 6pm for an additional fee of $75/week.
